Stippling.

I first began to explore stippling as a technique when I took a year off during undergrad. I found myself burnt out from the formal techniques of creating art, and I needed to reconnect with my own way of making. Stippling came to me pretty naturally as it was often my go-to when doodling on lecture notes. As I began to make larger pieces using stippling, I discovered that I was a lot easier on myself during the process. It was a carefree way of itching that creative scratch without having the pressure of creating something with a specific concept in mind. I just let myself make whatever I felt and found that the process of stippling was incredibly cathartic to me.

I hope to continue to make art using stippling and allow myself the freedom to explore without the pressure of creating art that will be acceptable in formal art scenes. This is the art I make solely for myself.
