Spark Postcard Project (2024)
Spark is a place making area in downtown Indianapolis around Monument Circle, focused on enlivening and energizing public spaces with games, art, and more. This is a project brought to fruition by Big Car Collaborative, a non-profit art and design organization location in Indianapolis, Indiana.
For the first postcard, Spark asked me to create an illustration that focuses on people and activities that visitors participate in this space. It was left intentionally without color so that people could color them in as they wish!
The intention behind this piece was to encourage community engagement, not only throughout the park, but across the globe where people can color in the postcard to their liking.
Below you can see my ink drawing as well as one of the postcards I colored in.
For Spark's instagram, I created a video compiling all the different ways people have colored in the postcards.
Spark Postcard Project & Downtown Indy
Spark (a project of Big Car Collaborative) and Downtown Indy asked me to create a postcard about Taylor Swift for her upcoming tour stop in Indianapolis in early November. I designed both a coloring version for Spark as well as a colored postcard that will be given out to hotel guests all across Indianapolis through Downtown Indy.
Here’s the short description printed on the back of the postcards:
“The Eras Tour is rolling into Indy this November and the Swifties are getting crafty. This postcard is all about the super fun trend of friendship bracelets that fans are swapping at shows. It’s the perfect way to connect with new pals while celebrating their love for Taylor’s music. Featuring some of her iconic songs and symbols, this postcard showcases one of her tour guitars along with some sweet lyrics. So grab your beads (or colored pencils) and get crafting!”
